Personal Tutors - Tuition Rates for Tutors
|
|||||||||||||
Rate SheetAs tutors on our register work on a self-employed basis they are free to agree the actual lesson fee
with the client. The tables below show suggested rates for individual tuition beginning on or after September 1st 2010.
The unit of time used to determine rates is one hour, but tuition may also be given in multiples or
fractions of this. The address of the pupil determines whether Region A or Region B rates apply. If
the pupil lives in Region A then the rates in Tables A1 and A2 should be used, if not then those in
Tables B1 and B2 are applicable.
Tuition for “Advanced – Supplementary Level” should be charged at the lower end of the appropriate “Advanced level” range. The tables above show the part of the total fee per hour retained by the tutor. The precise fee due to the tutor is a matter for negotiation between him and his client, and the above are recommended rates only. To obtain the total fee per hour payable by the client agency commission at the standard rate must be ADDED to the rates shown in the tables. Agency Commission
Simultaneous Tuition and Reduced-Rate TuitionA tutor teaching two children from the same family simultaneously should charge about 10% more than he would charge for individual tuition. For each further member of the same family taught simultaneously, he would charge a further 10% more than the individual rate up to a maximum of twice the individual rate. Agency commission is increased in the same proportion. For simultaneous tuition of pupils from different families add 25% to the individual rate for each student up to twice the individual rate. Agency commission is increased in the same proportion. Where an individual or group is to receive six or more hours tuition per week, on a regular basis from a single tutor, the total fee per hour should be reduced by 10% and the agency commission by 25%.
